Measuring the economic performance of small-scale rabbit production agribusiness enterprises

Reducing malnutrition and poverty remains at the centre of policy. Rabbit rearing, great economic importance, is a critical pathway to achieving this. Good knowledge profitability rabbit production its driving factors can enhance participation in production. Thus, this study examined performance (profitability) production, influencing barriers. Descriptive statistics, analysis, Tobit regression model Garret ranking were employed achieve objectives. The results indicated that was economical, productive profitable, with gross margin N675,990 (USD 1,633.5), net income N663,974 1,604.4), profit ratio 0.6, benefit-cost 2.7, return on capital invested 1.7 an operating 0.4. enhanced stock size, education, experience, membership association labour availability, whereas mortality, disease outbreaks feeding costs inhibiting profitability. major constraints affecting are disease, high mortality rate poor access credit. These call for provision management training credits motivate people engage farming, which will, turn, lower increase protein availability.
